problems with my heat control, after a water drain problem, i think it got into the control panel the only way for it to work i have to unplug a wire under the passanger side foot, because if i don't the car will not start after a long period of time plung in, please advice the best way

more than likely, the water got inside this panel and it is now toast. you will need a reputable MB shop to diagnose this and advise if it can be repaired. if it can't be repaired, they will inform you of your options. this is not a do-it-yourself repair.
When is it necessary to have this done, car has 75,000 miles. Dealer is requesting this to be done and it costs $400.00.
