When u turn on heat in front blows cold air heater works fine in back

A/C on the drivers side only will start blowing hot air. I have to turn the vehicle off and then on again to restart the cool air blowing. It may stay cool for hours or 2 mins. before it begins blowing hot air again. Sometimes it begins blowing cool air again on its own.
