What tiny bit trickles out is warm, but not even enough flow for defrost. The fan sounds like it is still working, but the flow is cut off. The box under the glove box freezes over (frost can be scraped off of it).

First check your coolant level . Low coolant level causing no heat condition.
If you switch to defrost your A/C will come on automaticly that makes the situation worse 'cause your evaporator freez up and air cant flow trough. How about your engine teperature? How fast your car reaches the opertion temperature?
If temperature goes up slow your thermostat may wont function.

Coolant level checks good. The car was out in the cold, 32F, and it took about 3 minutes to come off cold and 7 minutes to reach mid temp where it holds.
