Question: heater blower or wiring probem?

my heat went out in my 2005 kia sportage, i noticed smoke that looked and smelled like wire was burning, I had the blower replaced but heat still doesn't work. Is this a wiring issue the mechanic said that the plug and the wires connected to the blower motor is melted together

    The melting of the wiring is your problem, but the blower motor resistor is probably damaged too. Replace the wiring connector and possibly the resistor.
