The heater control lever on the dash connects to heater control cable that opens the flap in the heater control box, it easiest to have someone move the heater levers on the dash while you look under the dash with a flashlight to see if you can see a cable detached. It is possible the heater control lever assemble has failed. Do the levers feel limp or have less resistance when operated than you previously remember.
