Whenever im backing up turning the steering wheel, I hear a popping sound. 1 machanic told me that I need a right front lower ball joint and another said tie rod end boots.Which do I need?,confused again....thanksforyourhelp.

Enthusiastpopping sounds when turning are usually a bad ball joint (especially goin over bumps). but a bad wheel bearing or cv joint can cause the same sound. best way to check is to jack up the front end (leaving suspension hanging) put a prybar under the tire and wiggle it, if the lower ball joint is bad the tire will flop around
