It is not a simple solution to disable the day time running lights on your 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. That is not surprising being that is a government mandated system. The only way I can see to disable the day time running lights (DRL) would be to disconnect the wire at the DRL relay from the Body Control Module (BCM) The BCM is in control of the DRL and turns them on by grounding the DRL relay. Disconnecting this wire that grounds the relay will keep the DRL off but will most likely cause the Service Vehicle Soon light to illuminate on the dash. There is no DRL specific fuse. If you remove the fuse to the DRL relay or the relay itself other systems will be affected. Correctly bypassing the DRL relay is another possibility but that may also cause the Service Vehicle Soon light to illuminate.
