nope recalls are for saftey issues only. head gaskets are common but fail from either overheating or lack of maintenance. Roy - mastertech6371
There is a recall on this concern. If it is still under warranty the dealer will establish this by running the VIN #. The recall consists of draining a small amount of coolant and adding a SUBARU approved additive to the system and then topping it off according to specs. It must be performed at a dealership.
