1999 Pontiac Grand Prix Question: Head gasket replacement
Would it be better to replace the engine or have the head gasket replace. - Visitor
depends on why the head gasket blew, if the heads are cracked and the mileage. roy - mastertech6371

replace head gasket is better if the car is very old. otherwise engine replacement is better for long time use. - Visitor
Doesn't matter if you are keeping or selling the vehicle. A different engine (used engine) will save you money. The cost of repairing a blown head gasket is about the same as replacing it with a used engine. You also dont have to worry about the head being warped or cracked. In my experience less drama for everyone. It's alot easier to R\R an engine than to fix the head. Add it up you will see. fst.freddie - Visitor
