Would it be better to replace the engine or have the head gasket replace.

depends on why the head gasket blew, if the heads are cracked and the mileage.

I HAVE A 99 FOPRD EXPENTION DROP A PEICE PLASTIC IN NUMBER 4 CYLINDER AND HAD TO TAKE THE HEAD OFF THE DRIVER SIDE. HOW SHOULD PUT IT BAKE TOGETHER LIKE THAT.

replace head gasket is better if the car is very old. otherwise engine replacement is better for long time use.

Doesn't matter if you are keeping or selling the vehicle. A different engine (used engine) will save you money. The cost of repairing a blown head gasket is about the same as replacing it with a used engine. You also dont have to worry about the head being warped or cracked. In my experience less drama for everyone. It's alot easier to R\R an engine than to fix the head. Add it up you will see. fst.freddie
