head gasket leaking? on 1997 Toyota Corolla

right on the front of the engine there is slight oil bubbling out above the exhaust manifold center of head,im pretty sure the gasket is leaking,ive done many auto repairs so i feel i can do this job, is it necessary to pull engine out to do this job?

This sounds like valve cover gasket and not head gasket. If is above exh manifold then would be that. The manifold bolts to side of head above the head gasket surface. If you have done "many" repairs then you should know that the valve cover gasket does not mean to pull engine for replacement.
