Hayes went above and beyond to get new tires on my wife's car. She is a brand new mom to our baby daughter and getting out of the house isn't easy. Hayes offered to come pick up her car and bring it back when done. She was so happy not to have to go to the shop and wait for the tires to be changed. We have never received better service! Hayes cares about their customers and we will always go there.

I have always had good experience with Hayes Automotive. I bring both my Mazda's for service to them. Its local shop so I don't have to drive far to get cars serviced. So I would recommend it to my friends who are looking for independent mechanic (non-dealer service center).

You guys are friendly and professional. I was able to arrange for a next day service on a brake job. I was advised what needed to be done with genuine honesty. My Trooper was looked over thoroughly and not only were my brakes fixed but a pesky problem with my Fog Lights was finally fixed. Excellent experience.

So I had no idea that it was not tolerated to price things before you buy. Anyhow, I called to get a quote on having my wheel bearings replaced, never received a returned call. So, I called back and spoke to the man on the phone not sure of his name, don't care, because I will never visit that shop, nor will my family or friends. The gentlemen proceeded to ask me why I wanted a price and who told me the bearings were bad. Okay first of all I've in the car business for well over 30 years and my job was service writer, I also was the Used Vehicle Sales Manager which means I drove every car I bought as well as appraised, so I know what the sound is! So anyway I told him that Firestone quoted me the price and verified my thoughts. So he continues with, so you're looking for the lowest price , well I'm not him. Boy I don't know, but if I ever spoke to a customer like that I would have surely been fired. LEARN TO TALK TO PEOPLE WITH A LITTLE LESS HATE IN YOUR VOICE, LIFE CAN'T BE THAT BAD, HUH? Just trying to get the best deal, just like you do when you buy cars. I will make sure that all of my automotive dealership friends know how I was treated. Best Wishes!!!

This review took me totally by surprise. You actually spoke to the owner himself and I certainly meant no ill will, nor was I having a bad day when we spoke. I simply wanted to find out a little more information before quoting you a price over the phone. It is difficult to give a price without seeing the vehicle or first verifying that you do indeed need the repair you are calling about. I would have no way of knowing you were an experienced service writer, but that fact alone is another reason I was surprised you were so offended by my questions. I quickly determined from the information you provided you were simply shopping for the lowest price and to save us both some time, I let you know I was not going to be the lowest price. Still not sure why that was so offensive, but I apologize sincerely that I cam across to you in such a negative fashion. That was not my intention!!

I've been a customer of Hayes Automotive since 2008. In that time, I've had them work on my '89 Cherokee, my '87 Bronco, my '97 Escort, and, as a tow truck driver, had referred many other customers to them.

Last night, I was driving my '79 G30 Mobile Traveler that I recently bought to Boulder to show it off to a buddy of mine and it overheated on HWY 119. I had it towed back to Hayes by Reliable Towing (review soon to come) and dropped there overnight. Since I had no way to get home at the time, I needed to be there in the morning to fill out the paperwork to get it fixed, and I work in Longmont anyway, I decided to just sleep in my RV.

As I was filling out the drop box envelope in the morning before they opened for business, the manager came outside and told me that "we're not the shop for you", and that I should "find another shop" - after telling me that they could do the work and have it done by Friday.

Even better, he had called the police on me, apparently for not looking like I have enough money. They showed up, apologized for the manager's behavior, and said "that's messed up, sorry you had to deal with that", then left.

To treat anyone, especially a return customer, like that is inexcusable.

I went to Hayes whenever I needed a mechanic for six years, and then got treated like dog crap on the bottom of the manager's shoe to be scraped off - turned away, money in hand, because I appeared poor. I had to drive my RV to another shop with no coolant in my engine and risk cracking my block after having paid $244 to get towed to their shop.
