Hawthorne Auto Clinic, Inc.
Hawthorne Auto Clinic has the best customer service of any auto shop I have ever been to. They are friendly and helpful over the phone as well as in person.
My car was having trouble starting so I had it towed in to the shop, they were in the midst of diagnostics and it started up again. Instead of charging me for a full diagnostic and making up a reason that they got it going again, they were honest with me to what happened and only charged me for the time they spent on the car (about a third of the cost that was quoted to me). I took it back in for similar issues yesterday and they are working on it again so I will update later for this second go around.
I was also very impressed because, like most mechanics, they gave me a list of repairs that needed to be done eventually on the car. Not only was it accurate (fluids and belts that I know were due for replacement and not telling me my air filter was "black" when I know full well what it looks like), but there was no pressure to get any of it done right away. I even asked about how much they charge for a radiator flush and he hastened to say "let's get the car working before we worry about that." Most mechanics would jump at the chance to take my money whether it was a good idea or not.
I will agree with other reviews that they do charge a bit more than some shops, but if my experience is a usual one the extra money is worth the quality of repair and more importantly the being treated with respect, something that is very rare for a woman in an auto shop. Cheap means nothing when you are getting screwed over.Flag ThisLike0
