Although I do like their treatment of their customers, I did not like what happened my last visit; I asked for an estimate on some services, I believe the owner told me the time of the labor was 2.18hrs I replied 2.81 (which is reversing the 1 and the 8) he remained silent and let me just say 2.81 when he just told me a different figure.
The last time I went to haven auto repair I was charged a lot of money for a minor repair which I had it done at a different place way cheaper. Also the part that needed to be repaired that I was told from a mechanic at Haven Auto, was not the problem in my car as I was told. Another mechanic from different shop was able to fix my car and found the right problem
Haven Auto Repair charged me $200 to diagnose a problem with my Toyota truck. I told them that for the same diagnoses, Crown Toyota (a Toyota dealership) would charge half the price for the same diagnosis. I asked them if they could at least match the dealership's price and was told no so Haven Auto Repair lost my business of doing the needed repair job. If they would have matched the dealerships price, I would have definitely given them the business. In my opinion, a mom and pop shop should never go up against the big boys (dealerships) charging equal or more. They should always undercut the dealership's price. If not, what would be the point in given the business? At a dealership, you know you're getting all genuine Toyota parts, mechanics that work on nothing but Toyotas everyday, all day + they have the big bucks in case something goes wrong. How arrogant of Haven Auto Repair.
