Will go in and lock if I turn key to start engine, but will not go back to off position. Stays in position 2 in auxillary. Could it be the tumbler housing? Will not lock in by pushing straight in and then turning to off. I actually think my original ignition tumbler was OK.

MasterSounds like a failed mechanical portion of the switch, In our area a good locksmith can take car of this cheaper than the dealer.
There is a company that independent auto repair shops get their information from, this same information is available inexpensively for people that work on their own cars.. The information is year make and model specific, covering repair procedures, torque specifications, fluid capacities and specifications, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect....
