Question: hard starts

ohmywhatnow, 2.4L 4 Cylinder, Citrus Heights, CA, February 25, 2010, 14:15

 Rookie

hard to start whether hot or cold. takes any where from 5-10 seconds of continuos cranking to start. any suggestions or has anybody else have this problem? this doesn't sound like a normal starting procedure. thank you

  The hard starting issue with you 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser may be due to a fuel system issue. The fuel system may not be priming correctly when you turn the key on or the fuel system may not be holding the correct pressure after the engine is turned off. A fuel pressure gauge would be necessary the properly test the fuel system.
