2000 Chrysler 300M Q&A

2000 Chrysler 300M Question: hard starting

We are having trouble with hard starting. Ignition seems to turn over engine well but it doesn't seem to want to catch. It often takes two or three attempts to start. Once it is running, no problems. What could it be? -
Answer 1
Could be the ignition system--spark plugs, or the wires. If these parts have never been replaced, some of them may just be worn and due for replacement. You'd need a professional to inspect and diagnose to be sure, though. -
Answer 2
I had the same problem with my 2000 300 and my mechanic fixed it by putting a new fuel pump in it. He said that there was a pressure valve in the pump that was allowing fuel to leak back in to the tank instead of keeping pressure in the fuel lines as it was parked. -
Answer 3
gettingfuel and fire but won't start -
