2006 Toyota RAV4 Question: hard start when cold

 Rookie

car is hard to start when cold(cranks over fine) after warming up it starts right off

    Sorry to see you didn't get some help here, were you able to find the problem with the hard starting?

    Maybe a malfunctioning cold start injector, if your vehicle is so equipped. Also, later model fuel injected vehicles need adequate fuel pressure to start and run correctly. Try this. Turn the key to the on position (but do not start). Wait 2-3 seconds, then turn off. Repeat this 4-5 times then try starting. If the engine fires right off or starts quicker, the fuel system is probably losing pressure. Troubleshoot for a bad regulator or leaking injectors.
