Question: hard shifting

 Rookie

my transmission will start shifting real hard, i'll have to stop and use the reset as says in the book, it will be okay for a little ways and then start again

  Checking the Powertrain Control Module for fault code(s) would be a good starting point in diagnosing the transmission fault with your 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Any stored fault codes should be diagnosed and repaired as necessary.

  Replace the pressure control solenoid. I did it four months ago and haven't had a problem since.

  My 02 Ls Monte did the hard shifting thing to. Don't be to sure it's not just the Battery in your car. weird but true if you still have the same problem again try putting a new battery in just to Check could be surprised.
