I just recently recommended Hall Automotive to a friend for body work/repair after a deer accident. I have been a Hall customer since approximately 16 years, and continue to be Service department customer I have trust I the quality and thoroughness of the work. From Mike Davis at the front desk to Neil and Steve in the service area, as well as Kent and John in the Body shop department, . They are always professionals, thorough, detail-oriented, and accommodating. I always recommend them highly based on my experience.
I have usually had good service from Hall's but had a bad experience this time. I was told it would take an hour as usual but when I followed up after 70 minutes, I was told that it would be 30 minutes more. Turned out that another customer's car gave them problems but they never came and told us about the delays - no communication at all until I followed up. There was no excuse for that. That poor woman ended up being there for 2 1/2 hours for an oil change instead on the one hour they promised her. They did give me the tire rotation for free after I complained. I will give them that - they stepped up finally.
While most of the service I received at Hall was good, there were two instances where it was not. Hall installed a fuel pump without a guard and the pump had to be replace a short time later. Then, my last service there I asked to have my car looked over for an evaluation before I moved up north. I was charged two hundred dollars for various little things, including window wipers. Apparently they didn't check the clutch. When the car broke down a week later I got two hundred dollars for it, after paying for the tow. I am now without a car. I don't know if these errors in judgement are due to a desire to maximize the dollars they bring in without any conscience to the customer or if they are just stupid. Either way, I can't recommend them.
