If it says CODE, you'll need to enter the security code that was issued with the radio. It comes in the owners manual on a card. If you don't have this code there are two options. 1) Often owners will write the code on the top of the radio. You will have to remove the radio to check this. To remove the radio, press the two vertical bars (they are about an inch high) until they click and pop out. Once they are popped out, gently, and evenly pull the radio out using the two bars as handles, just enough to expose the white paper tag on the radio. If there is a hand written 4 digit number there, that just may be the code. While you are here, write the radio Part number and serial number down on a piece of paper. You will need this if there is no code on the radio, or if code entry fails. IMPORTANT!! Only enter code once! You only get 3 tries before the radio goes into lockout (screen says OFF) If the code fails - you will need to contact Volvo to get the code. We can do this at our shop for no charge as well.
If the radio says OFF, you will have to be patient. You will need to have the radio left on, with OFF showing on the screen, for about 1-2 hours constantly. The radio will switch from OFF to CODE when the right amount of time has passed. Take a two hour ride through the country, enjoy the scenery and wait for the radio to switch. When it returns to CODE, start at the beginning of this reply.
If the screen never turns on with the car running, most likely (as you stated that all the fuses are ok) the radio quit on you. You may need to replace the radio.
Perhaps there is a security code that must ne entered. My Golf used to have a secuirty code and Acura too. Perhaps in your owners information in glovebox. Acura had this info. Golf I had to get from dealership. Hope I was helpful.
