Question: had the timing belt done......

well i have a 2003 kia spactra i got the timing belt put on and now it runs but not well at all its loud,shakes,and when i put my foot on the gas it gos so slow.the guy who did it said something about a valve is bent i really dont know did he put it on wrong?

    It sounds more like the vehicle is not in time, which means the belt may have been installed improperly.

    However, was the belt being installed for regular maintenance? Or had it broken, requiring replacement?

    no it broke the teeth were no good on it too

    anr, just to be fair, there could have been damage caused by the breakage, not the mechanic. My recommendation is to have the timing rechecked and further testing done as necessary. Good luck.

    yes he dident line up the timing marks correctly and the valve has bent as a resoult of that and will need replacing and the timing belt will need to be redone (whitch will take a fair bit of labour)
