2002 Mercury Cougar Question: Grinding noise when I turn left

Question

My car has started to make an ugly grinding noise when I turn left. I thought that I smelled an ugly burning noise last night but haven't noticed it since then. It appears to be isolated to my front drivers side tire.

Best to get it checked out could be brake or wheel bearing related but more likely to be tire related. The tire may be rubbing the inner fender liner, perhaps it's become detached.
