I've been a client for approximately 6 years. With 4 cars in my home, at one point or another, they all have been serviced by Greg Lane Automotive. In the past month, both of my daughters cars broke down. They were extremely helpful to find the needed parts at a very reasonable price. The Mazda needed a new transmission, he kept the car until he could find one, and he did the job for at least $800 less than the quotes I got from 2 different Mazda dealers. The office personnel and mechanics have always been extremely helpful and courteous. They always contact me by phone to inform me what needs to be done and the cost, before the job is done. The only time they did not call me until it was fixed, was because they did not charge me for it. Greg Lane, the owner called me personally (today), to let me know that the car was ready, and the problem was the spark plugs (I'm not very knowledgeable with cars,so hope to get names right), and that those should have been replaced last week when the car was in for repairs. I thank Greg Lane automotive for their good service and honesty. I will recommend them to anyone in the Tampa area.

In these hard economic times it becomes ever more important to find honest people to do business with. I had an issue with my truck that I brought to Greg Lane for diagnosis. I had done some prior research and was worried that I had a leaking/blown head gasket. 6.0L owners worst nightmare. Being the ignorant car owner I am, this shop could have easily taken me for a ride. If they told me I had a leaking head gasket, I would have believed them given the history of this model truck, and the location of oil saturation on the engine. I would have shelled out $3.000 to get it fixed and cried myself to sleep. This didn't happen. The technician (Mike), checked it out and diagnosed a slow leak in a different location. Gave me an explanation that made sense, and a logical resolution. I even got to walk through the shop to view a faulty part, something else I asked them to look at. The shop was clean organized, well ventilated. The lady running the front desk was very polite and friendly as well. No work was done without my consent and I wasn't asked to pay for a thing until services were rendered. I even got a free car detailing...Its no easy task to ease the mind of someone who is paranoid like me. When I picked up the truck I was very comfortable with service I received. This is a shop I would have no problems coming back to. I am the type of person that researches everything before I do it. I was sceptical at first as I could not find that many reviews online. All were good but 1. My experience wasn't anything like the 1 negative review so I chalk that up to the fact that no one on the planet is going to be able to please everyone they come into contact with.

My husband has owned his Ford Ranger since 1997. Greg has serviced this truck for the past 10 years. Suspension, alternator, belts, oil changes, the works. He has always been honest, reasonably priced, and competent! And if it's not worth doing (like the check engine light for the air intake) he'll tell you not to bother fixing it. Cool.
