GMC Sierra C3 ProblemsInstrument Panel Lights Flickering and Exterior Lights Intermittent
The headlight switch used on the GMC Sierra C3 is known to fail through normal operation. Since the headlight switch is also integrated into the interior lights, a malfunctioning switch can cause issues with interior lights as well.
- Symptoms of a failed headlight switch include:
- Headlights and taillights failing to turn on or off
- Interior lights flicker, or fail to turn on or off
- Gauge cluster lighting off or flickering with headlights on
- Parking light malfunctions
This issue is well known with General Motors Trucks and SUVs, and is solved by testing and, if needed, replacing the headlight/dimmer switch. Bad grounding wires at the tail-lights, and dirty/corroded tow package wires can also lead to some of these issues.
Our technicians recommend replacing spark plugs at 80,000 miles. At the same time, the spark plug wires should be checked and if any hot spots are found, the ignition wire set should also be replaced. On the V8 engines, our technicians recommend having the coil packs checked as well.
GMC Sierra C3 Questionsstock exhaust (1 answer)
If there is anyone out there who has a stock exhaust system and could send me some pic's. I got the truck and was going to put an exhaust on it and the original owner cut it all up and welded a very bad job. This would be very heplful.
What is making my driver and passenger side floor boards wet?
When turning at low speed, as in a parking lot, the front seems to "crab".
