I feel that they are a very professional organization and I like that they check all the hoses, tires, brakes, batteries, etc. and give me a heads up that something needs to be replaced so I can schedule the expenditure in my budget. I also like the fact that if they replace a part, they show me the part that was replaced.
I went to get my ABS repaired. The first day, I drop my car off and the guy tells me it should be ready around five, but then calls me when I'm on my way home (I live 30 mins away) to tell me they didn't have the part. I come back to pick my car up because I needed it the next day. One morning wasted. They call me the next day and tell me that the part is in so I drop it off again later that week. Again, he tells me it would be ready around 5, but I told him I wouldn't be able to get out to pick it up until the next morning. The next morning I get a call at around 7:30 saying my car wasn't ready because the part they ordered was defective (later find out they put the WRONG PART in my car). This was a huge hassle because I needed my car for work that day. Also, it was a Friday so they would be closed for the weekend. They said the car would be ready by 3, which was when I had to work. Luckily I was able to borrow my mothers car and my parents helped by picking it up while I was at work. The weekend comes and I'm driving my car again finally. But as I'm going along guess what? ABS light comes back on. Not only that, but it flashes my parking brake light (which was not deployed), and changes my radio function (from AUX to Sat Radio). What the heck? That same night, my battery (which had never had a problem beforehand) seemed to have died on me, but then magically came back to life without a boost or anything. It was almost 60 degrees outside. It just seemed odd. I changed the battery myself and hopefully that will fix everything. I really don't want to take it back to Gili's at this point but I'm afraid they messed something up.
Their work is professional and their customer service is good, but a couple of times I've asked them to look at something they didn't. One was for a water leak that was quite severe and I had to blot it up over and over, when I brought it in for other service they didn't address the problem. Another episode of rain and I had to blot it up again. Brought it back for additional service and again asked them to address the leak. Finally they fixed it. The other time the check engine light came on, but they didn't look at it when I brought it in for other service. Now I have to bring it back in again, specifically to look at the cause for the check engine light.
In the year or so that I have taken my two cars to Gili's, I have found that they are knowledgeable, competent, fairly priced, and honest. The only negative is a lack of shuttle service or other way to get me to work (or home) when I have to bring a car in. This would make a big difference to many whom I know, so I wouldn't recommend it to them without that warning.
