The check engine light comes on and stays on. It went out for a while now it's back on. I had it checked and they said it's something to do with the gas tank sensor. BEfore I go and spend the money to get that done any other ideas. It stays off some somethimes then back on? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Russ July 01, 2009, 13:19ReplyMasterWhen the technician was diagnosing your check engine light a fault code or codes was read from the power train control module. The fault code(s) must have lead the technician in the direction of the gas tank. There are at least two sensors in the fuel tank, the fuel tank pressure sensor and the fuel level sensor. Any problem with your fuel gauge? Without knowing the stored fault code(s) there is know way for me to know if you technician is on the right track or not.
