Question: getting hot quick

all fluids are fine but we start the car with in five mins. it goes to hot but its not smoking any ideas people

    Have a shop check/test the water temp sensor and the gauge itself. They should be able to verify weather or not the engine is actually overheating within that short time span that its running.
