when the brake is applied with pressure a kick back feeling is felt

    Sounds like a little antilock brake system (ABS) activation is occuring. This is usually due to a variance in wheel speeds from one wheel to another. This can be caused by sensor to indicator ring clearance issues, faulty wheel speed sensors, wiring... Start your checking there.
