Question: Gearshif stuck in park, where's the brake safety located?

 Rookie

The gearshift is stuck in park, it's not the ignition lock, that I can see. Where is the brake safety lock located, I can't find it.

    Im not sure how how your vans steering column,but i took the plastic cover off of a 2001 dodge durango i could see a lock off of the ignition swicth that held the shifter lever locked in place,i lubricated it and it freed it up.

    Thanks, I have the column apart, it's not the ignition lock, but the break lock that wont let it move. I've checked the swithc, it works fine. I just don't know where it locks the shifter at. I'm hoping it's not in the trans, but I can't see anything in the column.

    Disconnect the linkage and see if you can shift the lever by hand at the trans, block the tires
