Question: Gearbox - electronics? (P, R, N, D, 3, L...tabs)

The lighting system within my gearbox location is not illuminating, like the odometer area, has a fuse blown? Also, my gearbox shift tab (you know the red tab that indicates what shift you're in) appears doesn't actually indicate the actualy driveshift. i.e. If I'm driving..in "D" the shiftgear indicates that I'm in "3" or "L." Could you explain?

    This is a hard problem to explain without looking at the issue first hand, but it might be related to the gearshift position sensor. Have you had it looked at by a shop? Or checked for any fault codes stored in the transmission?
