Read this and see it it applies to your car. If it does, it needs a software update.
The customer may complain about one or a combination of the following situations, listed below:
1. Intermittent harsh 4-3, 3-2 or 2-1 downshift (jolt) when coming to a stop with light brake application.
2. Jolts and/or jerks felt when reaccelerating after coasting.
3. Judder when gently accelerating (most noticeable at an engine speed below 2,000 RPM).
DME and EGS software calibration
Program the vehicle with ISTA/P 2.33.0 or later, using the path "Conversion" and "Downshift behavior". After this modification, the k-word "HADS" will be added to the Vehicle Order.

is the judder likely to be more when it is cold outside and engine/transmission are cold?
Also is it ok to share this note with the service advisor or just tell them the symptoms?
Final question, i just had satellite radio installed and they did a full reprogram. Does the software patch you mentioned get applied automatically as part of latest update or is it only installed on cars where there is a reported issue?
Thanks in advance for your response

It really depends if they just coded the MOST network, which handles the navigation, telephone, stereo, CD, etc... to control the sat. radio, or if they did a full system software update. A full update - based on how far is it behind- could take many hours.
Of course you can show this note to the service advisor.
I hope they can help you to get rid of this problem.
