Question: gear shift stuck in park

 Rookie

The gear shift is stuck in park. I start the car and press the brake, when i try to move the gear it doesn't move. I also notice the brake lights are not coming on. Any ideas?

  Whomever Wish my problem were this easy. I'm fairly sure that u need a new brake lite switch which generally screws into the brake fluid resovoier. Should be a relatively low cost fix and not require much mechanical repair experience.

  Brake light switch is the problem, but it is located under the dash on the brake pedal arm.
