Question: Gear shift is locked in park. Have taken the cover off but can't figure what now

It is parked on a hill, emergency brake is on. What do we need to do?

    It's seem to me your on a hill and the weight of the car is pushing against the transmission parking gear, get some friend to help push the car upward and then you should get it out of gear, and next time you come to a hill set the parking brakes first and then put it in park that way there is no binding on the parking lever.
