Question: Gear locked in park and not able to shift to Drive

Question

 Rookie

This problem on my drive way. I have not driven the car since October 2010 until Jan 22 2011. I just was going to take it to errand and it would not move from Park to Drive position

    Sounds like an issue with the brake light switch on the brake pedal.

    On Volvos the shift position microswitch and the shift lock solenoid could be a problem if the brake lights are working.
