Removal of the fuel pump instructions vary depending on the Vin number/production date of the car from 1.8 to 3.2 hours.
Removal of either requires the trim in the trunk behind the rear seats being removed, the battery disconnected the fuel system depressurized and the fuel tank drained of fuel. The straps retaining the tank are loosened, the filler hose, evaporation emission hoses are removed fuel lines (quick disconnect fuel clip hose tol may be required any parts store has the tool I think its the same as many Fords Lisle tool company make it $12 approx.) Electrical connectors are disconnected and the pump is removed from the top of the tank when it is withdrawn back from its location. Ensure the pump is properly indexed on re installation and the "O" ring sealing the pump is remplaced and hoses tightened or Evap codes will stored in the computer.
