2002 Jaguar Vanden Plas Question: gas tank

i cant seem to pull gas tank out far enough to replace fuel pump? does the rear seat need to come out,so i can push it? seems to be hanging up in the middle?,with the key on,should i be able to hear the pump? not sure if its filter or pump bad?

    if it is like a 99 vanden plas, you have to drop the rear end (diferential and brace) to disconnect the lines and then tank can be pulled out from trunk.

    fuel tank has two lines at the bottom. these are your pressure and return lines. they need to be released before tank will come out. late model jags will require a special tool to release hoses. any 3/8 trans./fuel line insert type tool will work (parts store). mark lines so they go back where they came out of. good luck, this job sucks. ps: lines will need to be released from underneath vehicle. ABOVE DIFFERENTIAL.
