This sounds like the evaporative system vent may be plugged. I'm not sure where it is, but I would have someone look into that part of the fuel system. Make sure the charcoal canister is OK as well, these can come apart and plug up the evap system lines.

It just happened. Does this make the gas tank vulnerable to falling out?
...gas cap looks fine. I changed the Evap Solenoid, reset the CIL and it comes back on when the gas tank gets half empty. I tried another gas cap. No luck. Any suggestions next?
