Question

Visitor, 3.8L V6, Saint Charles, IL, April 26, 2011, 11:05

I have a 2002 Chevy impala, 3800, 6 cylinder, 3.8 liter and the gas gauge doesn't work, if i'm driving it shows i have a full tank of gas and if i'm not moving the gauge moves around and sometimes says its empty when it clearly is not. what is the problem?

the fuel level sender, which is inside the tank, is a common failure

Sounds like the sender in the tank failed.
