Always a good experience.

Cheap and effective. Just a small dealer with two really good mechanics.

They always do a good job. Since I am far away, they take me to a coffee shop so I can sit there while they work on the car. I have always been happy with them.

by - Verified Customer May 20, 2016

A job well done. Very complete and well done.

Everything was good. I think he does really good work. I have never had any problems or issues with anything he did in the past.

by - Verified Customer April 25, 2016

I have had previous 'ok' experiences but the last time I had to wait 2 hours after my scheduled appointment before my car started to get worked on and all I needed was an oil change. They had been backed up from the week prior but if I didn't need to have it completed in the morning that day I wouldn't have made an appointment.

Security system light keeps flashing
Cycle your keyless remote a few times to see if that resets it. If not, try this: make sure all your doors are closed. Then work the locks with the key itself several times. Lock and unlock the driver's door several times. The goal is to reset the security circuit.

If the functions are working and the passenger side seat works, it's possible there is a broken wire in the door. That's where we'd start checking.

Yes, especially on hot days like we've been having. This is just condensation of water, like you get off a cold drink on a hot day.

It sounds like you are saying you drove 5 miles and then it overheated and the engine stopped. In that case, we wouldn't be able to tell if there was engine damage without looking at it. If what actually happened was that it overheated and then you drove 5 miles before the engine stopped then engine damage is highly likely.

Without having any more information than what you've given, $500 range is probably about right. You only want an OE fuel pump - aftermarkets in our experience may be cheaper but don't last. Can't know without testing it if it is indeed the fuel pump that you need - did the check engine light come on? Kind of surprised that it took 2 failures for them to diagnose the problem, though. Did they give you any diagnostic detail on why they came to the conclusion that it's the fuel pump?
Won't turn over , seems to be locked
As per Pushrod, try rocking the steering wheel back and forth while turning key to unlock column. If that doesn't work, it will require diagnostics to tell whether the problem is in the ignition system or not.

There are a lot of things it could be. As above, it needs diagnosing. Someone with a professional scanner needs to take a look at it.

If the car started before the clutch master cylinder was installed and doesn't start now, then it would be a good idea to talk to whoever put in the clutch master cylinder. It is doubtful that you needed a battery.

If it's the cat, there's no cheap way to fix it. To know what's going on and whether or not it needs a catalytic converter, you will have to have it diagnosed.

Loss of power can be due to a number of things. Does your check engine light ever come on? Rather than online guesses, it would probably be good to take it somewhere for diagnostics. Does it only lose power on grades? There's probably a sensor issue, but it could be anything from a lack of fuel or air to an exhaust problem.

Seriously? That should be under warranty I would think. Your vehicle has many computers on it - which one did they say went out? Depending on your warranty, it may have expired on time (a lot of them are 3 year/36,000 miles, whichever comes first). If they won't do it under warranty, Gary would recommend asking them for the contact information for the local area representative for BMW so you can complain directly to BMW rather than the dealership.

What to do is get it to a shop. A FUEL LEAK IS DANGEROUS. It needs to be fixed. The transmission leak isn't dangerous to you, but if you run out of transmission fluid it will be the end of your transmission.

Get it somewhere to be fixed.

Are there any lights on on the dash? Check engine light, etc.? It sounds like your mechanic is just guessing at things, and picking some pretty expensive ones - one should never condemn an expensive catalytic converter without testing it first! You need to take the vehicle to someone who will actually do a systematic diagnosis of the problem to avoid just throwing parts at it.

Probably didn't need the battery or alternator, since it's still doing the same thing....sounds like it would be good to have a diagnostic. Has the check engine light come on at any time?
I've only had it for about a year and ...
Well, you're having great luck with that high mileage vehicle! The throttle plate may be sludged up. We would have to take a look at it to be sure.
I take the car in about every 6 months but...
It's less a question of age than mileage. Different people have different beliefs about oil and oil services. We stand by the tried and true 3000 miles between oil services if you are using the conventional 5W30 oil that is manufacturer-specified for your truck. A lot can happen in 3000 miles, especially with a higher mileage/older vehicle, so this gives the opportunity to catch any developing problems before they become drastically expensive. The shop servicing the vehicle should check condition on all fluids and top them off, lube the chassis as applicable, and hopefully lubricate your door locks and hinges to keep them from squeaking and binding up. They should check the vehicle over and make recommendations for any further services you might need. We don't recommend spending extra money on so-called "high mileage" oil; a high quality conventional 5W30 like Valvoline should be enough, especially if you beef it up with a can of BG's MOA.

Before replacing the expensive catalytic converter we would strongly recommend that you verify the source of the rattling - either yourself or at a shop.

Battery is probably dead. Before you go out and buy a new battery, it would be good to have a starting/charging test done at a shop to see if it's the battery that's bad, or the alternator, or if there is a wiring or cable issue causing it. It's not always the battery itself causing the problem.

Was it doing it before the transmission was done? If not, you might want to take it back to the shop and tell them what's going on. If they took the carpet out a wire might have gotten pinched, or they might not have reset the alarm after repairs.

When is the last time your car was tuned up? What kind of gas do you use? Possible leaking fuel injector or fuel regulator. Lots of things could be going on. You need a professional to diagnose it properly. Is the check engine light on?

Pull the fuse before it wears out your battery. You may have a relay or wiring problem; recommend you take it to a good diagnostician for repair.

Smelling gas is never a good sign. This is a highly flammable liquid and if it is escaping, you'd better hope there are no sparks nearby. It would be best to have the vehicle towed to a reputable shop for diagnostics.

Didn't find a code P2165. There is a code P2156 for this vehicle which indicates problem w/#4 cylinder. Recommend you have it diagnosed somewhere.

1. The leaking transmission pan gasket is a clue that the transmission fluid hasn't been serviced for some time. A transmission service is important to keep your transmission from failing. However, frankly $130 for a 06 Lexus transmission service sounds low. If you allow them to do it, make sure they are using the manufacturer-specified fluid only. This is very important.

2. Independent shops tend to hire more qualified help and be more thorough. That said, it's not possible for me to comment on the other recommendations without seeing the vehicle. The timing belt has a service interval specified by the manufacturer. If the belt breaks, the vehicle stops - no matter how fast you're going. In a Lexus it won't necessarily damage the engine if it breaks - in many other vehicles it will bend the valves.

Sounds like you may have a misfire. If so, you'd be best to get it diagnosed & repaired before it leads to other problems.
