Fuse keeps blowing on 1995 Volkswagen Golf

I blew, what I believe, is the fuel pump/0-2 sensor fuse twice now. I had it in to my mechanic and he said the wiring to the fuel pump looks fine. Any ideas? Unfortunately I don't have an owner's manual, and the vw dealer wants me to buy one for $100! I don't have it, so I'm stuck! Help! Thank you...

Are you blowing fuse #18, 20 amp? My guess without seeing the vehicle is that the heater element in the O2 sensor is where the fault lies. You can try disconnecting the O2 sensor and see if the fuse still blows, this may set the check engine light though. If the fuse doesn't blow, then the O2 sensor will need replacement.
