2004 Pontiac Grand Am Question: fule pump

 Rookie

yes i just put a n new fule and fule liter and its eating gas alot quicker why is that i lokked under the car while it running but i dont see any leaks whats going on

    Too large an amount of fuel being burned will damage the Cat Converter. Why was the filter and pump replaced in the first place? Is the fuel consumption issue only since the pump was replaced? If so is the pump correct spec for your car (not too high a pressure). I wonder if the fuel pressure regulator is bad not allowing fuel to return to the take. Other things to check are Oxygen sensor signal and check for leaking fuel injectors, bad coolant temperature sensor or air flow meter. An exhaust gas analyzer would also be useful in seeing what is going on.
