Hey guys! My 1997 Madza Millenia wont fill all the way up. If I put about $28.00 of gas in it, it will show 3/4 of the way full, then slide down to between 1/2 and 3/4 of the way. Has anyone else has this problem so I know what to expect when I take it to get looked at?

How manny gallons do you lack to be able to top off the full level? Sounds like a venting problem some where, Carbon Canister vent valve??? Faulty vent valve some where look at a fuel system schematic !! And then best of luck! I wish I could be of some help!

I have just bought a 1999, with the same problem times ten.It only felt like I could get the car to hold 8 gallons of gas, then the gauge is right down to a quarter tank. So in my mind Im thinking there is something in my gas tank that is taking up ten gallons of space, considering it's suppose to hold 18 gallons of gas.But here is the fix First1) buy a one or two gallon tank fill it with gas.Second drive your car til she runs out of gas, if it's like mine you should drive for about 350 miles.Get the gas out of trunk put it in and then call a junkyard for a used tank. There are two sensors on the down spout in the gas tank that go bad.Your tank has to be almost empty to have them replaced. The cost of the tank was $85 alocal garage charged me twenty to replace each sensor. Now my tank shows full and I dont have to stop ast gas station every other day.
