You must remove the pickup bed or the fuel tank of your 1999 Chevrolet 1500 Pickup in order to replace the fuel tank pressure sensor.

you got to drop the fuel tank and its on top of the fuel pump

Why do the first two answers sound totally contradictory? Is the fuel pump actually located under the bed so you have to lift off the bed to service it?

It sounds contradictory, but it is not. The tank is strapped to the frame, under the pick-up bed. To get to the top of the tank, you must either drop the tank, or lift the bed. From there, you can easily pull the sensor from the top of the tank pump assembly.
