I have an early 1991 Cabriolet (110K Miles) with a fuel tank leak, about 10 years ago I stopped driving due to leak. I live in Hawaii & and moving back to Ohio & plan on driving this car, will the 1990 recall cover the 91? Also do these things expire on a 20 year old car? Thanks

MasterA recall lasts the life of the car I believe, I know I had a recall done on my sister's Honda and it was eight or nine years old at the time. Call VW North America customer service and see if there is any out standing recalls on your car and what their policy is.
