fuel shut off on 1994 Ford Escort

my fuel shut off light is on tryed to rest it but nothing happened what else could cause this its not getting gas and will no longer start

The fuel pump safety switch has probably failed and has cut off fuel from the fuel pump to the engine, Have a tech trouble shoot this as it might only need resetting

the inetia switch is in the trunk close to the seat i believe pass side.
