fuel pump wiring on 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

i bought a new fuel pump for my chevy and the wires on the body are the exact same as the wires on the fuel pump and i hooked all the matching wires together and it still will not start, how do i connect the wires correctly?

If you matched the wire color AND wire size, that should be correct. Did your 2000 Chevrolet Silverado run before you replaced the fuel pump? If not perhaps the fuel pump was not the problem.

i had the same problem but the truck did not run before i replaced the fuel pump what else could it be
