I had a similar issue recently with my 1995 850. I was stuck in a parking lot and it wouldn't start after stalling out on me It had done this several times before, and like you said, it would restart after a couple of minutes...well this lasted over an hour. So I eventually disconnected the fuel line under the hood and saw that there was no gas coming through the line when I cranked it. I checked the fuel pump fuse and it looked OK but I swapped it with another one just in case. I checked the line again and their was fuel. So, I went back and put the original fuse back in for the fuel pump to confirm that that was the problem. Well, it wasn't - the line still pumped fuel. So I began to wonder if the problem was the Fuel Relay that is under the fuse box cover- I figured I may have pressed/moved it when I was messing around with the other fuses above it.. I ordered a "used/but tested" relay on eBay ($12) and stuck it in (along with a new front O2 sensor) and the car is running like new. Average cost of Fuel pump relay is around $50-$60 bucks. Hang in there!
I'm having the same problem. I replaced the pump the filter and the relay. after each replacment i got a day or so of good driving but ultimatly it still is doing the same things
Is the pump getting power when it stops working?
