Question: fuel pump replacement

 Rookie

replaced fuel pump.now fuel gauge not working ,tried plugging and unplugging.when unplugged gage reads full with key on.reads empty plugged in key on.

    The fuel gauge sending unit is part of the fuel pump assembly. It may have been jostled when the fuel pump was replaced or a fuel sending unit wire was not put on securely when the new pump was installed.
