I bought my 2008 Rondo from a dealer in 2009 with 15000 miles on it. At approx. 36000 miles it left me stranded in town. I called roadside assist, towed to Kia, fuel pumped replaced under warranty. New pump came with a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. Now at 51,877 miles, stranded again, towed to Kia ( roadside assistance out of warranty), now the fuel pump needs replaced again, this time out of my pocket >$500.00 plus tow plus rental. I found that the fuel pumps on the 4 cyl were recalled for same problem. I called Kia customer care and they said that there was nothing they could do, my car was out of warranty for the pump and wasn't included in the recall. My question is.... Why not?....2 fuel pumps replaced within 16,000 miles of each other...so my car will be using it's 3rd fuel pump with only 51,877 miles on it. And Dealer repairs are soooo expensive, I had no choice this time...but if it occurs again it will go to my local mechanic for more affordable repairs and cheaper towing.
My solution: Kia needs to add the V6 to the recall.
My 2007 Kia Rondo will crank but not turn over. I brought it to Firestone to have it analyzed. They could not find any causes for the situation. There are no codes and the fuel pump appears to be working. Spark plugs have been changed.
