if i have run this car out of gas more than once chould calls the fuel pump to go out.. could it run out of gas again and want start back

I changed out the fuel pump on my 2004 cadilac deville now the service engine
the car quit had to replace the whole fuel pump. since then the service engine light is on. i had it checked and it revealed that the camshaft position was defective and a evaporator emission leak....
